HP gives app developers access to webOS 3.0

HP have provided developers with a development kit for their new operating system – webOS 3.0.The OS will not feature on a tablet until the new TouchPad device is released in the summer, but HP hope that by giving developers a head start they can provide TouchPad users with a range of useful and unique applications.

Release dates leaked for RIM PlayBook and HTC Flyer

UK release dates have reportedly been leaked for RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook tablet as well as HTC’s 7-inch Flyer tablet.The information, released by mobile operators Three, indicates a May release for the HTC Flyer, while RIM’s PlayBook is pencilled in for a June release.

HP’s 10.1 inch TouchPad demo impresses at MWC

The demo of HP’s new TouchPad tablet at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona has left a favourable impression on those in attendance.
As well as a live demo – which can be viewed by clicking the link at the bottom of the page – HP’s representatives let the amassed crowd of tech journos and onlookers have a play around and get to grips with the device themselves.

Never mind iPad 2, is iPad 3 already in the pipeline?

With Apple’s iPad 2 not even a confirmed device, it seems ridiculous to talk about a follow-up; but some speculators are predicting an iPad 3 before the close of the year.
The Washington Post have run with a story from tech-blogger John Gruber, which talks of indicators from Apple that a third iPad is not too far away.
