Apple are rumoured to be responsible for RIM PlayBook delay

The delay in the release of RIM’s tablet device –the PlayBook – may have been caused by a shortage in components, thanks to Apple securing the entire inventories of some component producers for use with their own iPad 2 device.The PlayBook had originally been scheduled for a stateside release on April 19th, a date that has now been knocked back by a month.

New HTC Android tablet in the pipeline

HTC have announced another Android tablet to follow their 7-inch Flyer device.
The new tablet – the HTC Evo View – bears a strong resemblance to the Flyer, leading to speculation that it is simply a different coloured version of the already announced Flyer tablet.

Toshiba announce “high-end” tablet

Toshiba have announced plans for a high-end tablet device, due for release later this year.The as yet unnamed device will run Google’s Android operating system – probably version 3.0 of the OS, Honeycomb – and will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor.

Dell’s new Streak 7 slate does have voice call capabilities after all, and StreakSmart have uncovered them.
However, its discoverers hint that there is maybe a sinister motive for how well hidden the app is; it doesn’t work.
