AMD prepare HD 6790 graphics card for release

Chip manufacturers, AMD are preparing to launch their new graphics card – the HD 6790 – on April 5th.The 6790 was originally scheduled for release on March 31st, but AMD postponed the launch until April 5th.

Intel chips come out on top in Q4 slump

Chip giant, Intel emerged from a slump in processor sales in the fourth quarter of 2010 with the edge on their competition.While computer chip shipments experienced a 0.4% decrease on the previous quarter, Intel’s shipments actually increased in Q4, earning the company an 80.7% market share.
The figures, released by analysts, IDC, showed that full year shipments of computer chips had increased by 17.1% on 2009, with chip companies receiving a collective revenue of $36.3bn for the year.

CES 2011 – AMD Brazos Acer Aspire One A0522 netbook

The release of this device will mark the first application of processor company, AMD’s new Brazos platform. The annual tech jamboree is shaping up to be an exciting event for both companies.
The Brazo is the product of AMD’s recently developed, Fusion strategy and is a low-power platform aimed at smaller notebooks. It will be powered by AMD’s C-50 accelerated processing unit (APU) with its dual-core 1 GHz central processor.
