TazPad Body1 TazTag ready new NFC enabled tablet for a possible unveiling at CeBIT at laptopshop.co.ukFrench firm, TazTag are rumoured to be planning an unveiling of their new tablet at the CeBIT event that begins tomorrow in Hannover.

The device – known as the TazPad – will support near field communication (NFC) technology; a new innovation in connective technology, that experts expect to replace card transactions for low value purchases.

TazTag have been helping develop this technology, which is due to be available in all TazTag devices. The TazPad will also be equipped with a biometric authentication option, which ensures security for users of the device.

Even without this optional extra, the NFC tech will still allow users to look up information such as product prices, availability and specifications, as well providing a tantalising platform for app developers.

Away from NFC, the TazPad will also offer WiFi, Bluetooth and ZigBee connectivity options alongside an HDMI port for streaming content to HD screens and monitors. Additional features include a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, GPS navigation, a camera and – interestingly – an accelerometer.

The tablet will run version 3.0 of Google’s Android operating system, known as Honeycomb.

TazTag are expected to reveal more information about their exciting new product at CeBIT this week, as well as hopefully offering demonstrations to the gathered masses.
