Rumours abound as HP start the countdown to WebOS revelation
Posted on February 3rd, 2011 No comments
HP have set the clock ticking – literally – by running a promo on their webpage featuring a countdown to the unveiling of the next-gen Web OS.
As the seconds tick by, internet speculators are spinning all kinds of rumours; probably fuelled by HP’s provocative – and slightly confusing – sloganeering of “Think big. Think small. Think ahead. Think beyond.”
At the Palm WebOS event, held in San Francisco next week, HP are expected to showcase two new WebOS tablets; a 9inch and 7inch tab.
However, the “Think big. Think small.” wordplay has kickstarted rumours of a new Web OS smartphone to follow on from the Palm Pre.
The eight-second teaser trailer – teaser being the operative word – is great if you like watching plastic corners and buttons moving in and out of focus in a dark room; less so if you were hoping for any actual information. Those who want a fleeting glimpse can check the video below.
So, beyond the fact that whatever HP are planning to drop will have buttons and corners, what do we know? Truth is; not much. Specifications for both tablets are rather thin on the ground, although they both are rumoured to pack processing power beyond the increasingly standard 1GHz, as well as some sort of camera.
Amazing
Roll on February 9th and some actual answers from HP.
