MSI are reportedly planning to unveil two new tablet devices; the Android Honeycomb supporting WindPad100A and Windows 7 based WindPad 110W.The unveiling of the devices is due to take place at the CeBit event in Hannover, Germany between the 1st and 5th of March. Both devices are thought to have been created with an emphasis on the multimedia side of things.
The 100A features a 10.1 inch multi touch screen as well as an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, powering an Android 3.0 – Honeycomb – platform. The skimpy device weighs less than 800 grams and is less than 14mm thick, it comes in both a WiFi and a 3G version.
The Windows 7 based 110W will be powered by an AMD dual-core C-50 APU, along with Radeon HD 6310 graphics and Brazos processor. It will come complete with 32GB memory, WiFi connectivity, ALS light sensor and G sensor. ALS and G sensors are also found on the Android device.
The 110W has been criticised by some for having a sub-standard battery life, but has also been championed as one of the best multimedia tablets around.
Demos at CeBit will surely shed more light on these multimedia credentials but, for the record, Netbook news described the tablet as a “significant leap forward as far as the multimedia side of things goes”.
