Fujitsu have unveiled their new Q550 tablet device. The 10.1 inch tablet will run Windows 7 and is scheduled for a U.S. release sometime in spring.
The Q550 sports an LED backlit, capacitive touch screen with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution which supports pen input as well as multi touch. The device comes with 2GB of onboard memory and is powered by an Atom processor.
With the Q550, Fujitsu have put the onus firmly on portability; the tablet weighs in at 1.5 pounds and its chunky bezel and anti-glare screen make it an ideal choice for users on the move.
Other specifications include a front facing camera for video calls, rear facing main camera, USB slots, HDMI output, audio dock, VESA mounting support and the option of Gobi 3000 with GPS.
Connectivity wise, the device has WLAN, Bluetooth and optional mobile broadband. An extra long life four cell battery is also available as an optional extra.
