1015pn n570 Asus Eee PC 1015PN updated for CeBIT re launch at laptopshop.co.ukAn updated version of Asus’ Eee PC 1015PN netbook has been spotted, featuring an even faster processor than before.

The 1015PN was launched last year and sported a dual core 1.5 GHz Intel Atom N550 processor; this has now been bumped up to the new Atom N570 processor.

The Atom N570 is still a dual core chip and has been clocked at 1.66 GHz, a marked improvement on the 1.5GHz of its predecessor.

The spot, made on the show floor at the CeBIT event in Hannover, which begins tomorrow, revealed no other change in specifications for the device.

The Windows 7 running netbook is available with either 1 or 2 GB of RAM, 250GB of storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.

The timing of the sighting is almost perfect, with devices powered by the new Intel chip originally rumoured to be appearing towards the end of February. If this correlation between rumour and fact is to be read into, we can expect to start seeing devices hitting our shelves in March.

So far, Asus, Samsung and Lenovo are known to have netbooks in the pipeline powered by the chip, but, until now, Asus’ contribution was kept secret.

Samsung’s new NC110 is understood to be using the Atom N570, as is the Lenovo IdeaPad S100.
