Asus Eee Pad gets a UK release date
Posted on February 28th, 2011 1 comment
Asus have announced UK launch dates for a raft of new tablets, including the Eee Slider and Eee Memo. The announcement, made ahead of the CeBIT event in Hannover, revealed that the 12.1-inch Eee Slate would be first to drop, landing in the UK in early April. The 10.1-inch Slider and Transformer tablets will follow close behind in mid April.
So it will be left to the dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon packing, 7-inch Eee Memo tab to bring up the rear when it arrives in the third quarter of 2011.
Three of the four tablets support Google’s Android Honeycomb platform, with only the Slate being made available with Windows 7. The Eee Slate will also feature an i5 dual-core processor and the option of 64GB of storage.
The Nvidia Tegra 2 powered Transformer does what it says on the tin, by ‘transforming’ into a notebook via the attachment of a clip on physical keyboard. This is designed to act as a safety net for those still unsure about touchscreen technology.
The Eee Slider provides a similar incentive for tablet-sceptics to get involved with the inclusion of a ‘sliding’ keyboard – (the Asus tablet-naming team are sharp aren’t they?) – that fits just beneath the touchscreen. The slider will rock a dual-core processor just like other tablets in the raft of releases.
The miniature Eee Memo will feature a micro-HDMI port, meaning it will be able to punch far above its weight in terms of HD streaming. It will also have a rear facing main camera, and a secondary one on the front for video calling.
No pricing information, for any of the devices, is currently available.

Heya just stumbled upon your blog from Bing after I entered in, “Asus Eee Pad gets a UK release date | Laptop Shop News” or perhaps something similar (can’t quite remember exactly). In any case, I’m happy I found it because your content is exactly what I’m looking for (writing a college paper) and I hope you don’t mind if I collect some material from here and I will of course credit you as the reference. Many thanks.
