MP60T5 - Replacement Laptop Battery

External Li-ion Battery

The MaxPower 60 plugs into your laptops DC input just like your AC adapter does and as such can give your laptop an extra 4-6 hours running time in addition to your normal battery depending upon the laptop and power settings. Ideal for anyone that needs to use their laptop for extended periods away from a mains supply.

The MaxPower 60 External Battery is small enough to sit under your laptop and weighs only 1.08kg (2.38lbs) yet has a 95Wh capacity.

In order to get the maximum performance when using the MaxPower 60 we recommend that you remove your normal battery, that way the MaxPower 60 will be powering just your laptop and not trying to charge your battery which would reduce the amount of time available.

Types of laptop battery

Li-ion = Lithium Ion, The latest type of rechargeable battery. Lighter in weight and can offer higher capacities over NiMH. Supplied as standard in most new laptops and notebooks. These can only be used in laptops that are designed for them.

Important note : Beware of refurbished Li-ion laptop batteries for bargain prices, due to the volatile nature of the Lithium Ion compounds, batteries must have matching cells and correctly calibrated control & safety electronics. All our new laptop batteries are made to the highest standards by quality manufacturers that also make original laptop batteries for many of the big brand names. Refurbished Li-ion laptop batteries are usually sold at highly discounted prices and thus are normally produced for the lowest possible price, often with little regard for thier long term stability, this can lead to them overheating or in extreme cases catching fire or exploding, this one area where quality should not be sacrificed for cheapness

NiCd = Nickel Cadmium, older type of rechargeable laptop battery. Loses it\'s capacity to hold a charge if not fully discharged then recharged regularly, this is also known as the memory effect.

NiMH = Nickel Metal Hydride, a newer type of rechargeable laptop battery. Offers higher capacities and improved performance over NiCd. Less prone to the memory effect than NiCd, but can still suffer if not discharged then recharged correctly.

RTC = Real Time Clock, a small battery that keeps the computers clock running even when the main battery is removed

Resume = Resume battery, powers the laptop whilst it goes into stand by mode to allow the main battery to be removed and replaced without losing data.

2nd bay battery = Fits in the bay of a laptop normally where the floppy drive or CD/DVD lives. Gives you more mobile power capacity providing you don\'t need to use the floppy/CD/DVD.
